  1. As always, the public is strongly in support of stronger gun regulation. Find HUNDREDS of other polls here: http://www.pollingreport.com/guns.htm

    1. Baldr,

As Greg mentions below, if the numbers shown in the polls that you repeatedly see disseminated by the media were correct, then there would be no one in the gun control lobby despairing that they are being thwarted by the evil gun lobby.
You need to keep in mind that the only poll that matters to a legislator is the feedback from their constituents. This comes on election day and in the form of correspondence to their office. It doesn't matter what Pew, Gallup, or any other poll comes up with. They don't vote in the election.
In fact, recently, it appears that two Colorado legislators misjudged the wishes of their district to the point that they didn't even get to wait till the next regular election. As the old saying goes, the people have spoken.

    2. Yes, the people have spoken in 2 out of 35 Colorado districts. The laws still stand.

    3. The loss of those two seats have reduced what was once a three seat majority down to a single seat. The mag size bill passed the Senate by a single vote and the background check bill passed on a party line vote.
Yes, the laws still stand,so far. There are already reports circulating that the two laws might be up for repeal this next session. With the recent losses to the slim democratic majority and the regular election coming up, this could be an interesting session.

  2. And so? When you explain to me how rights are subject to opinion polls, this will become interesting.

  3. "And so?"

So you lied many times saying the public does not want gun control. Now back to your hillbilly woods and the perversion of making men squeal like pigs.

  4. The only poll that matters is run by the Board of Elections, and gun rights wins that consistently.

  5. Hugh majority with only 1003 people surveyed? Where was the survey conducted? What age group? What gender bias? What race bias? What income bias? 1003 people in three days and this is a poll?

This is nothing more than a junk poll. Meaningless.

    1. Meaningless because it refutes your dearly held beliefs.

    2. No, it's meaningless because polls taken right after an intense event often show a spike one way or the other. Things settle back down soon enough.

    1. Well, another poll the two "deliverance" boys will deny, because it proves them wrong again. Do these hillbilly's ever get tired of being wrong? No, because in spite of facts proving them wrong, they say they are correct. Delusions. But don't attack their delusions, they might go postal.

  7. Anon,
Thanks for posting this article. While I can appreciate the problems they've had from being turned into a punching bag by both sides of this debate, I don't believe the route they've taken will result in a good outcome for them.
In essence, they're saying we'd rather you didn't, but we wont make you leave, we will still serve you, and have a nice day. So not any real change, especially since the gun control groups that were pushing this aren't satisfied.
Starbucks isn't an unusual occurrence. Most business venues mirror the Starbucks policy by following the local laws in regards to firearms. In Minnesota, the law regarding posting of businesses not allowing carry is very well defined and works well. Since I routinely carry, when a business is posted, I vote with my wallet and go elsewhere.
The private property rights of a business are to be respected as much as the rights of anyone else.

    1. Why do you think it'll end badly for them. The poll said 57% approve and only 32% disapprove.

    2. Because, as I said, in real terms, they really haven't changed their policy. While claiming victory, the Moms, also said they want more.

  8. Let's also remember that this latest poll came out right after the Navy Yard shooting. There's always a spike in feeling for gun control when the news blasts out an incident of this nature. But those numbers will drop again in not too long. That's why the circus of Feinstein and Bloomberg and Brady rushes out with a tweak on their boilerplate gun control demands each time. And it's why a little resistance blocks passage.

    1. From the deep thinking of a toothless grin deliverance boy.
The boycott had nothing to do with it. The negative press had nothing to do with it. The woman getting shot inside a Starbucks had nothing to do with it. The protests had nothing to do with it. The thousands of letters to Starbucks asking they ban weapons from their stores had nothing to do with it.
The toothless grin deliverance boy claims the only reason this survey came up with a majority of people agreeing with not allowing guns in Starbucks stores, is because of an unrelated shooting with deaths, which happens everyday all around the country. Your left molar must be tuned into the NRA station again.
